As spring and daffodils bloom, Kensington and Chelsea is all set to host a series of exciting events.

From opera to exhibitions, here's a roundup of some of the most exciting events and openings happening around the Royal Borough in spring and summer:

Crown to Couture, Kensington Palace

A multi-sensory experience awaits you at Kensington Palace's largest exhibition ever. Crown to Couture is a fascinating display of royal fashion, showcasing the evolution of British royal style from the 18th century to the present day. The exhibition features a range of stunning garments and accessories worn by members of the Royal Family, including dresses worn by Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, and Kate Middleton. In addition, Lady Gaga's luminous green MTV Awards dress and Charles II's famous Silver Tissue Gown and over 200 objects will be on display.

Holland Park Opera

When it comes to outdoor opera this summer, there's no need to leave London. On Tuesday, 30th May, Opera Holland Park will present Verdi's gripping tragedy, Rigoletto, Humperdinck's cautionary fairytale, Hansel and Gretel (sung in German), Puccini's bittersweet portrait of love and friendship, La bohème, and Jonathan Dove's world premiere opera, Itch, commissioned by Opera Holland Park for the Canadian Opera Company, Toronto, and based on Simon Mayo's best-selling novels. The Charles Court Opera joins for their third co-production with Opera Holland Park for Gilbert and Sullivan's comedy Ruddigore, a tale of ancestral ghosts, wickedness, and lies.


May, 30th - August, 12th 2023

Chelsea Flower Show

The prestigious Chelsea Flower Show returns to the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. The five-day event will showcase a range of stunning garden designs, plant displays, and floral exhibits from some of the world's top horticulturists, designers, and landscapers. Visitors can expect to see everything from traditional English cottage gardens to modern and innovative designs.

The Proms

The BBC Proms 2023 season will continue to showcase a diverse range of classical music performances from some of the world's most renowned orchestras and soloists. While the schedule is yet to be announced, the 2023 season is sure to be another fantastic celebration of this beloved genre of music. Tickets go on general sale on Saturday, 13th May 2023 and be sure to keep an eye on their website and social channels for announcements.
